Health Benefits of Olive Oil Skin Care

Add it to your shaving kit
Olive oil can be used as an effective shaving oil to shave facial. Olive oil can provide a safe and natural lubricant for a close shave. Rub in an extra teaspoon after washing your body or face once finished.
 
Rejuvenate your hair
To avoid split ends, mix an egg with 1 tablespoon of vinegar and 2 tbsp of olive oil. Heat, but do not allow to boil, and then apply to split ends. Leave for an hour then rinse out. Hot oil treatments with olive oil are used as a deep conditioner. The extreme moisture is locked in by the heat of the oil. This hydrates your hair and stops breakage from occurring. Participate in hot oil treatments weekly or as needed. Place 6 tbsp. of olive oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat the oil for 15 to 20 seconds. Make sure the oil isn't too hot to be touched. Using your fingertips, rub the olive oil throughout your hair. Start at your roots and comb the oil down through your hair. Once your hair is covered with olive oil, wrap your hair within a warm towel and wait for 30 minutes. Rinse your hair thoroughly and shampoo it as normal. To make your hair shiny, wash with a mixture of 5 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 eggs. Rinse well, then wash again with your usual shampoo. To tame the frizz and flyaway's on humid days or in the winter, just comb a bit of olive oil through dry hair.

Olive oil is one of the simplest home remedies for wrinkles. Olive oil benefits skin by keeping it soft, smooth, and supple, thereby helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Used topically, vitamin E rich olive oil, protects the skin from UV rays and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. To use olive oil as a wrinkle fighting facial moisturizer, simply smooth 2-3 drops of extra virgin olive oil in the palm of your hands and gently pat onto your face.
Scalp Massage
A scalp massage is beneficial for a flaky scalp or stunted hair growth. The rubbing motion stimulates your hair follicles and increases blood circulation at the scalp, promoting hair growth. Rub a dime-size amount of olive oil between the palms of your hands, and use your fingertips to massage the oil between the roots of your hair directly onto your scalp. Massage your scalp in circular motions for approximately 10 minutes. Repeat this process every few days.
 
Add it to your manicure
Olive oil helps to strengthen nails and soften cuticles. Before going to bed, soak your nails in a mixture of warm olive oil and lemon juice. Then cover your hands with smooth cloth gloves to allow the oil to soak into your nails during the night.
 
Relax your body
Gently rub olive oil into the skin on any part of the body before a massage ? It helps the muscles and nerves to relax.
